When flying back to the United States from Norway I got COVID on the plane, and while stuck in quarantine, I decided to buy a drone! I forgot to bring it with me when I went hiking last weekend, but this time I remembered and was hoping to get some good views from the top of the mountain and Buttermilk and Silver Spray falls. I didn’t get any shots of the falls as I did the trail in reverse, and with it being winter, it would be dark by the time I would make it to them. I managed to get a few shots of them with my camera, but I had to increase my ISO significantly.
I only took a short video as it was my first flight, and I don’t yet know how far I can fly away, and I’m still learning how to operate it to make a nice video smoothly. I was starting to get the hang of it a bit, but I was in a rush to get to the waterfalls before it got dark, so I didn’t stay to fly it for too long.
Anyways, here’s a short video that I came up with – I had to cut it a few times from either when I was messing around with the camera or stayed in place for too long. I’m looking forward to trying it some more and hopefully not crashing or losing it!
